Through video counseling, Leslie helps clients work through grief “stages” and process life changes unique to their individual experience. Grief is not confined to death alone, but rather it encompasses stages of life such as: loss of normalcy (illness and otherwise), loss of job, loss of wealth, divorce and loss of pet, loss of relationships and other transitions such as moving and/or loss of home. Recognizing that grief isn’t linear, Leslie assists clients in moving forward and living with grief to assume regular activities and achieve life goals. As an Acsm CPT/CET, Leslie focuses on physical changes that accompany chronic diseases and psychosomatic responses and can prescribe exercise regimens to assist healing- mind and body working together, creating harmony through Health and Wellness (W)ealth.
 
As a GC-C through coaching, counseling and a holistic approach, Leslie works with you to build a healthier lifestyle . Healthy behavior modifications and mindset reframing are used to better live with and process grief. Encouraging and motivating clients is her specialty. Change isn’t easy and grief can be a roadblock to living your best life. Leslie will help you build a better version of yourself.

Leslie’s specialties include working with anticipatory grief, competitive grief, complicated grief and typical grief responses related to: elder care related transitions, chronic disease complications, divorce, loss of pet, and human loss. Should a client need psychotherapy Leslie will refer out to a qualified therapist.

Recognizing when you need help is one of the first steps toward a healthy grief response. If you have not returned to regular activity, if you do not enjoy things that previously gave you joy, if you find yourself sad for long periods of time resulting in loss of productivity, and your hygiene is suffering or if you recognize these in others, please seek help. Conversely, if you believe you have not grieved “appropriately” and feel guilty for resuming activities and living life, please reach out. Perspective and a new narrative. Sunrise or Sunset? How you view and process can make all the difference

It isn’t “just a dog” or “just a cat”. The death of a pet is a true loss of a family member. People tend to dismiss grieving for an animal, but even with anticipatory grief, this loss can be difficult. 

Feeling blue? Grief comes in waves and ebbs and flows. Grief leaves a hole in your heart which is omnipresent, but it can become smaller with time with healthy processing.
